  • No spin-up time
  • Low power consumption (great for laptops and netbooks)
  • Fast read times ( great for quick boot up times and game loading speed)

Disadvantages

  • Expensive per MB vs HDD drives
  • Lower life expectancy than HDD drives
  • Poorer encryption options

  • Used in cameras and video cameras for media storage
  • Used in smartphones for additional media / application storage
  • Used as a HDD alternative in Micro-controllers

  • Very Portable
  • Reasonably Cheap storage
  • Wide compatibility

  • Not very robust
  • Easy to lose

  • Can include encryption / security built-in

Disadvantages
