Types of interactive whiteboards

There are two types of interactive whiteboards,

These are essentially just huge versions of the touchscreen that a mobile phone of table would use. They are usually combined with a fully functional computer into a large housing. You operate them like you  would a normal computer.

Touch-sensitive whiteboards

These are a separate devices that you mount on the wall. The feature a touch-sensitive whiteboard which you can either write upon with a normal whiteboard marker, or project onto using a normal project.

The whiteboard is connected to the computer, usually by a USB cable connection and the whiteboard sends the touch location coordinates back to the computer to process as required.
