If the computer cannot find an appropriate device driver, the user will have to download and install an appropriate driver from the internet before the device will work.<\/p>\n<p>Having device drivers separate to the Operating System itself means that the operating system is devices independent &#8211; it can be install across a variety of different hardware.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Printer Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Printers require management by the operating system, and printer management consists of a number of tasks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loading the printer driver<\/li>\n<li>Spooling print jobs<\/li>\n<li>Loading print jobs into the printer queue<\/li>\n<li>Sending data to the printer buffer.<\/li>\n<li>Controlling the printer while it is printing<\/li>\n<li>Handling errors in printing, such as a paper jam or low-toner warnings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">User<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<h3>User Management<\/h3>\n<p>The operating system is responsible for managing which users can access the system and what levels of access the have. The tasks include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adding users<\/li>\n<li>Editing user permissions<\/li>\n<li>Deleting Users<\/li>\n<li>Controlling the amount of resources (especially storage space) each user can use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On most centrally managed server based computer systems, such as school systems, user management will be disable for most users and only those with administrative privileges will be able to load \/\u00a0 use the software.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/learnlearn.uk\/gcsecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/01\/user-management.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-748\" src=\"https:\/\/learnlearn.uk\/gcsecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/01\/user-management.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">File<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<h3>File Management<\/h3>\n<p>The operating system is responsible for maintaining the file system.
